Dihan

about eve

We are marching to Pretoria! It is a long story of how a listener in New York happened upon the work of a performer in Pretoria, 13,000 kilometres away (click here for the blog tome.) The chain of events leading up to this point, is simply one of those mysterious ways in which the Lord works.

I was "hit by the bus" when I first heard Dihan's version of Silwermaan. How does a person describe with mere words, the splendor of a sunset or the scintillating dance of Northern Lights?

Silwermaan is the splendor and the dance.

I created this site to introduce Dihan's music to American audiences, as well as serve as a focal point for his fans in Suid-Afrika and world-wide. I hope you come to enjoy Dihan's artistry as much as I do!

Please have a look around. If you're a visual person, we have Photo pages. If you're a reader, we have Articles, and if you're just a listener, please go to Music.

Or ... if you find this too static for your taste, I built a flash site, with a little more pizazz, with moving, jumping, spinning things! For more entertainment value for the dollar -- I invite you to visit my flashy blingy ...

Hello, you may have landed on this page by one of a couple of ways.

1) Following a link from pizzasliceproduction's youtubes.

2) A search on Dihan Slabbert.
I could really embarrass myself by attempting a whole paragraph of poorly composed Afrikaans, so, ek sal net sê baie welkom by dié webblad!

3) Referral link from one of my many blogs.

4) Following a link from the Campbell Scott Companion website.

All of you have something in common. Maybe you want to know a little about this person, Eve, of PizzaSliceProductions, CSCompanion, or Lorem Ipsum.

You'll often hear/read me refer to myself in the third person. This is an interesting medium. I have both a real life, and this virtual life. Though I often go by different pen names on the internet, I never pretend to be someone I am not, nor fictionalize my life or achievements.

I graduated with a computer science degree from a large university in NY. I became a programmer for a conglomerate of a computer company. After my kids were born, I gave up my briefcase for a diaper bag. I have since reinvented myself, and returned to the workforce. More biographical information can be found in my Wordpress blog, Lorem Ipsum.

These websites are a way for me to express my inner geek. They keep me sane and allow me to stretch my mind. On some small level, each technical victory gives me a sense of personal accomplishment. I've learned a gazillion new technical things, in building my fan sites. Though I have roots in programming, fansite building is more about design and aesthetics, than code and architecture.

It's cliche, but I really did build this site because of one song. My initial thoughts are in the About Eve section above. Those feelings hold true to this day. When I play it after not hearing it for a while, it still gives me goosebumps!

As they say in Afrikaans, ek hoop u u kueier geniet. I hope that you enjoy your stay!
