Unless you're a fellow designer, or you ran out of links to click, hardly anyone comes here. If you chose this page deliberately, my friend, strap your hip waders on and let's slosh through the designer's pig pen.
This blog at Wordpress contains my working diary, a rambling keyboard monologue, during site design and code phases. It was usually written during the wee hours of the night, but it has its intelligible moments.
why re-invent the wheel?
The original dark site design was called "Bug's Life" created by Below the Horizon for FreeCssTemplates.org.
I used the XHTML and CSS as a base and made major tweaks. I added the transparent content boxes, moved the navigation to the right, changed the picture and font type and colours. It's pretty much mangled beyond recognition; with some surviving Class names.
The site was built using just Notepad on the Bug's Life template. Then when I was happy with the home page, I switched to Dreamweaver CS3, for its template function. I used a great deal of Photoshop, and a side order of Illustrator, on the graphic. I also employed my fast-loading Photoimpact for quick picture fixes.
Fonts are Verdana (content) and Palatino (coloured type). The text colours are light grey and a light fluorescent blue. You can view the Default.css file for all the details.
It renders best on Firefox, Safari, and SeaMonkey, and horribly on Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer is really fussy, and gives way too many security warnings. If you get a security popup, I assure you, I am not trying to use your computer as a server for nefarious spamming. Please download and use Firefox, I promise you will be a much happier camper, viewing this site. My screensize is set to 1024x768.
